Spannend.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you energetic? Organised and reliable? Fun and caring? If so, we need you now!

We live in a small but very social outback town and we are looking for someone special to join our family for two to five months (starting by 1 February ideally and staying until the end of June with some flexibility). The role will involve helping to care for our three daughters (aged 6, 4 and nearly 2), household chores and whatever else needs to be done. I work two long days each week and am studying so will also enjoy your help on my days off.

We are looking for someone hardworking and authentically interested in helping out and being part of our family. You will ideally have experience caring for young children and enjoy being like a big sister for our girls. You must have a manual / stick-shift driver’s license and a sense of adventure.

We pay $300 per week for around 35 hours work, plus a generous bonus payment at the completion of your stay. Food and board (your own room) are provided and you can use our spare car. We will pay for you to travel to our town from Brisbane or Sydney. You will have three days off each week to enjoy exploring the region or to get a second job.

In your ‘work hours’ we’ll need you to help the girls get ready and do drop offs / pick ups for school and kindy as well as dance lessons. You will mind our littlest throughout the day (nappies, mealtimes, one daytime sleep), help with homework in the afternoons and of course have fun playing and making memories! Household chores will include washing, making beds, vacuuming, mopping, meal preparation, feeding our dogs (two Labradors) and whatever else crops up.

Outside of work hours we expect you will still contribute as part of the team to meal preparation, cleaning up etc as you would do within your own family and you are welcome to join in on whatever we’re up to. We are a fun and very healthy / outdoors type of family. We eat whole / clean foods and enjoy exploring and having adventures together. We just returned home from 6 months of travelling Australia and are already planning some camping trips for April / May (when it’s cooler), including a trip to a music festival a few hours away.

Cloncurry is a great town with a welcoming community and plenty of other Au Pairs / young travellers. We are hoping for good rain soon so that the local dam will fill and the river will flow (swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding) and in the cooler months there will be heaps of social events - horse race meets, sports events, the annual Show, rodeos...

If you are seriously interested in the role please contact us quickly. I can send you more information - including references - and would love to chat to get to know you more. It's very important to us to find the right person who really 'clicks' with our family to ensure we all have a great experience. You will be our sixth Au Pair so we know what works and what doesn’t!

Please note - this does not qualify for 2nd year visa although working on a property in our local area after your time with us is a possibility.
